Pascal Dusapin (b. 1955) is a French composer based in Paris, and one of the most important composers of today.

Dusapin's music explores emotion, energy and the shaping of musical form, drawing on wide-ranging interests in architecture, philosophy, morphogenesis and literature. Born in Nancy, Dusapin discovered the organ at ten and turned decisively to composition at eighteen after hearing Varèse's Arcana. From 1974 to 1978 he studied with Iannis Xenakis, the only formal training Dusapin received and the foundation of a singular compositional voice.

Dusapin has written nine operas, premiered at La Monnaie, the Opéra Bastille, the Berlin Staatsoper and the Aix-en-Provence Festival. Alongside these are seven string quartets, the orchestral cycle of seven solos (1991–2009), and concertos written for Renaud Capuçon (Aufgang), Alisa Weilerstein (Outscape) and Viktoria Mullova and Matthew Barley (At Swim-two-birds). Dusapin's work has been performed by the Berliner Philharmoniker under Simon Rattle, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic and the Arditti Quartet, and he has collaborated with artists including Sasha Waltz, James Turrell and Dominique Bagouet.

Dusapin received the Fondation de la Vocation prize in 1977 and a Villa Médicis residency from 1988. In 2019 he premiered Lullaby Experience with IRCAM and was honoured with a "Time with Dusapin" at the Salzburg Festival; in 2020 President Emmanuel Macron commissioned him to compose music for the pantheonization of Maurice Genevoix, and in 2021 he was the featured composer at Radio France's Présences festival. His music is published by Editions Salabert / Universal Classical Music.
